LAHORE-THE Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has provided on-job training to as many as 80,000 teachers of 13,000 public and private sector schools of various districts under “Continuous Professional Development Programme” (CPDP).
talking to teachers of various PEF-Partner schools in the provincial metropolis, Chairman Chief Minister’s Taskforce on Elementary Education Raja Muhammad Anwar said this was for enhancement of content knowledge delivery in most effective and efficient way, stated a handout on Wednesday.
He inspected the school arrangements for imparting education and also enquired about the co-curricular facilities from the students. Different officers of Punjab Education Foundation accompanied him during the visit. Raja Anwar informed that the initiative has been taken by PEF for the development and capacity building of PEF-Partner School Teachers to ensure quality education by strengthening their academic skills.
Under the CPDP initiative, capacity building of head teachers/Principals of low cost schools is made for catering to the needs of marginalized segments of society. Under this programme, two days trainings in administration, management & leadership, child psychology, assessment & teaching techniques is arranged by the PEF, he added. Besides, PEF has also decided to provide five PCs along with UPS and a printer to each of the partner schools, he added. It will help provide free IT education to students who otherwise have no access to computer learning.
