LAHORE-SECRETARY Higher Education Punjab Ahad Khan Cheema has directed Divisional Directors (Colleges) to chalk out a comprehensive programme regarding inspection of colleges.

Addressing a high level meeting, he directed stern action against teachers of public colleges doing private tuition during duty timings.

The meeting was attended by all the Divisional Directors (Colleges), DPI (Colleges) Dr Abdul Razzaq Cheema, Additional Secretary (Academic) Ch Akram, Additional Secretary (Establishment) Eshan Bhutta and Additional Secretary (B&P) Yawer Hussain.

He said complaints that college teachers were involved in private tuition during college hours were being made despite clear cut directions in this regard. “This practice is badly affecting the curricular activities in the colleges”, he added.

He instructed that divisional directors would make surprise visits of private tuition academies and centres in their jurisdiction and make sure that no teachers from government colleges working there too in college hours. “Strict action will be initiated against those involved in this malpractice”, he added. It was also decided that e-communication would be promoted in the department.
